Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark followed up the worst performance of her young WNBA career with one of her best.
Clark matched her career high in points, which she set against the Los Angeles Sparks on May 28. Her latest 30-point outing came just days after scoring a career-low three points in a blowout road loss to the New York Liberty on Sunday.
Clark did most of her damage at Capital One Arena on Friday from beyond the arc, knocking down a career-high seven of her 13 3-point attempts. Her previous high for made 3s in a game was four.Clark, who also had eight turnovers, shot 8-for-15 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. She missed a free throw in the final seconds of the game that would have given her a new career high in points.
The Mystics, who dropped to 0-11 with the loss, had a chance to tie or win it at the buzzer following Clark's miss at the free throw line, but they didn't get a shot off in time. The Fever, who improved to 3-9 on the season, had three players score in double-figures in addition to Clark. Kelsey Mitchell scored 16 points, while Aliyah Boston and NaLyssa Smith each had 10. Smith also pulled down 10 rebounds.
