Fire decimates Los Angeles home as firefighters work to contain massive blaze. A wildfire tearing its way through southern California in the Pacific Palisades region has been declared an emergency, with thousands forced to flee.

Mayor Daniel Lurie said on Friday: 'I ordered city government into action immediately this morning, and our first responders have been out across the city ensuring the safety of our residents.
