One scenario would see only three current Nottinghamshire tips being kept open
Calls have been made for the future of Nottinghamshire 's recycling centres to be reconsidered after the release of a confidential report about them. No final decision has yet been made on the future of Nottinghamshire 's 12 tips, but three scenarios have been set out for how things could look.
These recommendations came about following meetings of a group of councillors whose role was to look at the future of tips. Yet with the final decision on the future of tips due in the coming months, one councillor says the process should be stopped and the 'task and finish' group of councillors should meet again.
"This meant that members of the working group didn't see the report – despite being asked to review the very same thing." Councillor Neil Clarke, the cabinet member for transport and environment at the county council, has previously accused opposition councillors of "attention seeking" by raising concerns over the secret report.
