The man's injuries are not thought to be serious
A Nottingham councillor has asked Wollaton Park to carry out a "full security review" after a man was injured by a deer near the venue's golf course. The park was closed for two hours on Sunday because of the incident, which resulted in the deer being put down by a vet.
The man was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be serious. The Nottingham city councillor for the area has now said that lessons need to be learned from the incident. Labour's Councillor Steve Battlemuch, who represents the Wollaton West ward on Nottingham City Council, said: "As a local councillor, I was in touch with the management of Wollaton Park [on Sunday] for a full briefing and called for a full security review to take place this week between the park and the golf course to ensure all appropriate lessons can be learned.
