Daniel Laurie's dad was a British acting legend, but many fans are only just realising his famous family connection
Fans of Call the Midwife have recently discovered that one of the show's beloved stars, Daniel Laurie, is related to an infamous EastEnders villain. Daniel's father is none other than Leslie Grantham, a legendary figure in Albert Square.
However, he was written out of the soap for good two years later when his latest wife Chrissie murdered him. Leslie passed away in 2018 at the age of 71, reports the Mirror. The fourth series will also feature appearances from Les Dennis, Katherine Kingsley, Martyn Ellis, Mina Anwar, and Ed Birch. Lorna Watson will return as the crime-solving Catholic nun Sister Boniface, with Max Brown reprising his role as DI Sam Gillespie.
