Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding attend the GQ Men Of The Year Awards 2016 at the Tate Modern on Sept. 6, 2016 in London.‘ set at Ushuaïa in Ibiza to perform their new collaboration, “Free.” Goulding showed up in a flowing white shirt dress and gold face glitter to sing the ethereal vocals — “I’m freeeee! When I’m with you, I”m free” — while Harris worked the decks during the set amid his ongoing residency at the island mega-club.
Based on the video and a preview of the song uploaded to YouTube, “Free” is a high-energy house track heavily outfitted with piano stabs and shimmery synth flourishes. The debut comes days after Harrisof himself and Goulding in the studio working on the song, with Harris raising his arms and making a very “OK yes this is a hit” face as Goulding hits silky notes on the mic.
