Surrey Heath Borough Council says the projects will be carried out in Camberley town centre.
Surrey Heath Borough Council said the projects, which include enhancing Pembroke Broadway with new low-energy street lighting and natural green-roofed bus shelters, are to start in autumn 2024.
Arnold Walk is also set be transformed into a "welcoming" walkway with "modern attractive" lighting and colourful public art. Council leader Shaun Macdonald said: “The council is committed to improving Camberley town centre to make it the destination of choice within the area." Mr Macdonald added: "These new projects will further enhance the visitor experience, improve their personal safety, help our precious environment, and encourage a vibrant town centre."The council leader said the authority would aim to keep disruption to traffic and pedestrians to a minimum during the transition.
The projects will also pause when needed over the pre-Christmas period, to ensure festive trading for local businesses is not affected.Part of town centre car park remains shut after fire
