The Wee Gers got off to a great start in the West of Scotland Second Division

Cambuslang Rangers boss Paul McColl was pleased to survive a goalkeeping crisis – which saw them play striker Scott Robson in goal – to batter Craigmark Burntonians 5-1 in their West of Scotland Second Division opener.

And McColl said: “Two of our goalkeepers were away on holiday so we used a trialist, but he ended up getting smashed by Craigmark’s big centre-forward, who came at him like a big bull. Camby now host Lesmahagow tonight before travelling to Kilsyth Rangers on Saturday, and McColl believes there’s still plenty to come from his side, with so many players out or still on holiday.
