A 39-year-old man from Cambuslang has been charged with a weapons offense following an alleged disturbance at a hotel in East Kilbride. Thomas Scott appeared in court on Tuesday (January 21) at Hamilton Sheriff Court, charged with carrying an offensive weapon in a public place. The incident reportedly occurred at the Ramada Hotel on Cornwall Street in the early hours of Monday (January 20). Police Scotland received a report of a disturbance in the Cornwall Street area around 4:45 am on Monday.
A 39-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Scott made no plea or declaration during his private petition appearance. The case was committed for further examination, and Scott was granted bail pending his next court date. A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated, 'We received a report of a disturbance in the Cornwall Street area of East Kilbride, around 4.45am on Monday, January 20. A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection. He is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Tuesday, January 21.
