These protests are probably the beginning of the end for a US foreign policy offering unconditional support to Israel. That’s a good thing.
A student protester at Pomona College studies in front of the mock Israeli apartheid wall on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in opposition to the violence in Gaza. The student-led Pomona Divest from Apartheid Campaign organized this protest, demanding divestment of the college’s relations with the state of Israel. The protest also included an occupation of the campus center lawn with a campout.
But I don’t hate any ethnic groups, nor do I support Hamas any more than I support the Israeli Defence Forces. To the extent that the kids on campus are seeking the same thing, they’re doing God’s work and have my full support.
