‘Can’t believe it': NRL rocked as ‘horrific’ Papenhuyzen injury brings finals to standstill
Storm fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen has been stretchered off the field after suffering a compound fracture to his right ankle against the Broncos.
The 25-year-old’s blow came during his third game upon return from a knee injury which left him out of the game for 13 months. In the 73rd minute when attempting to make a tackle on Brisbane prop Tom Flegler, Papenhuyzen’s leg was caught under teammate Nelson Asofa-Solomona.
