The nicotine metabolite ratio , a biomarker of CYP2A6-mediated nicotine metabolism, predicts efficacy of nicotine replacement therapy , with fast metabolizers benefiting less than slow metabolizers. Whether treatment support to optimize NRT use modifies this pharmacogenetic relationship is unknown.
