Capital markets firm Canaccord Genuity has initiated coverage on gold miner West African Resources and given it a ‘price target' of more than double its current market trading level. With a second mine on its way and set to come into production next year, Canaccord particularly likes what it sees for the rest of the decade.
Aside from WAF's operational portfolio, Canaccord has pointed out that after a busy two years establishing Sanbrado and Kiaka, the miner is now set to ramp up its exploration, "with a number of compelling targets to test in the coming year".The one key query the firm has is sovereign risk."Burkina Faso has been increasingly affected by terrorism and insurgency, particularly from Islamist militant groups," Canaccord said.
