Police cordoned off a canal towpath in Stockport this morning after a person suffered a 'medical episode'.

Officers were called to the scene in Marple earlier today. Pictures showed part of the pathway taped off by the Peak Forest Canal at around 9.30am. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said a person had suffered a 'medical episode' at the scene. There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.No further details have been released at this stage.
