Prosecutor Corinne Kennedy gave a harrowing account of what she said was a "severe and sustained attack". Ms Kennedy alleged the man made threats in the weeks leading up to the incident and then carried them out.The man's lawyer Michael Kukulies-Smith conceded the alleged outburst showed concerning and troubling behaviour.

But Magistrate Ian Temby said part of the context of the case was that the man had allegedly targeted the victim on social media over a long period.
