A yellow weather warning for wind and rain has been put in place for the weekend
A number of events hyave beenb cancelled across Merseyside with strong winds and heavy rain expected to sweep across the region this weekend. A yellow weather warning has been put in place by the Met Office on Saturday and Sunday as strong winds of up to 60mph are likely to cause disruption. The warning get underway at 7am on Saturday morning and continues until 9pm on Sunday as strong winds are expected to batter Liverpool and may lead to some transport disruption.
Also cancelled on Saturday is Tuebrook Market and car boot sale. Run by Liverpool council, the retail market offers a range of foods, clothes and crafts to shoppers every Thursday and Saturday. However, due to the forecast for disruptive gusts of wind, the market has been forced to cancel this weekend. The 1878s flag display for the Everton match on Sunday has been cancelled due to the adverse weather warning.
