Police say the car that was involved in a catastrophic crash in regional Victoria had been travelling at an 'extremely high' speed before colliding, saying the tragedy could have been avoided with responsible driving.
Two women and two men lost their lives after the deadly vehicle collided with a tree in the early hours of the morning, with a fifth teenage victim in hospital fighting life-threatening injuries.
Assistant Commissioner for Road Policing Glenn Weir said at a press conference on Sunday the tragedy wasn’t an accident but a collision that could have been avoided with driver precaution. “They are the ones who can limit the carnage and it’s to those people that I make the appeal right now to do something before you too either suffer road trauma.. or you will know someone who does.Two teenage boys, a woman in her 30s and a fourth unidentified female were casualties of the horror crash.
