MANILA, Philippines — Capital 1 Solar Spikers import Marina Tushova gave a straightforward assessment of the Philippine volleyball style of play.
Following Capital 1's stunning straight sets win over the defending champs Petro Gazz Angels on Tuesday in the PVL Reinforced Conference at the PhilSports Arena , the 6-foot Russian said that Philippine volleyball's level of play is rather weak especially on setting and passing.'Sorry if it's gonna be rude so it's not that high quality like sets, passing,' said Tushova , who led her team to a 26-24, 25-20, 25-18 win.
'So good defense and you'll never know how a team play against you like today you know no one that we're gonna play like this but we were starving our win and we did it.'As Tushova said, the Solar Spikers were simply hungry to get their first win in two matches as they now sit in third place of Pool B with a 1-1 slate.The Cignal HD Spikers and the Akari Chargers are on top with a 2-0 win-loss card each.'We were just starving in the game the win.
