Car bursts into flames on busy Scots motorway as emergency services race to scene
Police and fire crews are still in attendance on the M8 between J2 and J3 after arriving at roughly 1pm today.
Firefighters are working to extinguish the blaze, with no injuries having been reported in connection with the incident. A video clip has shown the grey Audi completely engulfed in flames, sending large plumes of black smoke into the air.A man can also be seen standing a few feet away from the car on the side of the road.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1pm on Monday, 20 February, 2023, police were called to the M8 between J2 and J3, following a report of a car on fire.The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been approached for comment.
