The Met Police said armed officers arrested the man after his car "bashed into the gates" of the Royal pad at 2.30am on Saturday.
There were no reports of any injuries, a police spokesperson said, adding that they're still looking into what happened.After being checked over, the man was sectioned under the Mental Health Act. He's now out on bail, the police said. No royals were home at the time, and repairs to the gate are already happening, a palace spokesman said.
