Officers were called to the scene on the M74 between Rutherglen and Glasgow in the early hours of Thursday, December 29, after the alarm was raised by several members of the public.

A man has been arrested and charged after a motor was seen travelling on the wrong side of the M74 motorway by shocked members of the public.

Footage from their dash cam shows the car’s headlights as it travelled towards the marked police motor near Tradeston - against the flow of traffic. Officers from the Glasgow and Lanarkshire road policing unit managed to bring the incident to a safe end with no injuries or damage.
