Motorists face long delays after a car fire led to a major road being closed, says police.
Police said they were called to the scene at about 08:30 following a crash between two vehicles on the A11The A11 southbound was shut between the Thickthorn roundabout on the outskirts of Norwich and the B1135 Wymondham junction following the fire and a two-vehicle crash at about 08:30 GMT.
Norfolk Police said the road reopened at 10:35 and a spokesperson said there were "no reports of any serious injuries". The East of England Ambulance Service said it sent an ambulance to the crash but did not need to take any casualties to hospital. Fire crews from Earlham and Carrow stations in Norwich had been sent to deal with the crash and resulting blaze.Plumes of dense smoke could be seen to be rising from the scene.
A vehicle that had broken down in the area and needed to be moved off the carriageway had also hampered the situation, police said.It has set up a diversion from the Thickthorn roundabout through the B1172 at Hethersett, with motorists told to rejoin the A11 at Tuttles Lane interchange.Teen drives with knees before crashing into woman
