A cordon remains in place in Etchells Road in Heald Green this morning
The crash happened on Etchells Road in the Heald Green area at around 11pm last night . Emergency services including police, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene after a car crashed into the 5G phone mast.
One local resident described hearing a 'screech and loud bang' before the smash. They said they saw fire crews help rescue at least person from the car. Pictures show the damaged phone mast, which has been left on a slant, within the cordon. Police said the road will remain closed for safety reasons. "Emergency services responded to the scene to assist and the road remains closed at this time for safety reasons. The extent of the injuries suffered are expected not to be life threatening.
