The smash happened on Manchester Street, near the junction with Frederick Street and where the road merges into Manchester Road, at around 12.35am on Tuesday morning . .
The man suffered head and back injuries, a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service said. He was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital.Pictures taken at the scene showed one car left badly damaged. It appeared to have collided with a traffic light. In a statement, a spokesperson for NWAS said: "We were called at 00.38am on Tuesday morning to reports of an RTC on Manchester Road in Oldham. We sent an ambulance to the scene.
"Paramedics treated one patient with back and head injuries. We took the patient to the Royal Oldham Hospital."Read more of today's top stories here
