A man and a woman suffered serious injuries after a car ploughed into two pedestrians by Queen Square bus station.
The two victims were both taken to hospital after sustaining a "serious head injury", according to Merseyside Police.READ MORE: Legacy of little boy with 'heart of gold' who died in bus crash Police officers, crews from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and paramedics were all visible working within the cordoned area.
"A man and a woman who sustained a serious head injury after the collision have both been taken to hospital for further treatment. The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting officers with their enquiries.
