Undercover police spotted a car being driven at 80mph on the wrong side of the road in Stretford, before finding a balaclava and a knife in the vehicle.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra was seen reaching the high speeds, more than double the limit of 30mph, and on the wrong side of the road by officers who later stopped the car. They then found eight people crammed inside. Arrests were then made at the scene by Greater Manchester Police after they uncovered offensive weapons, a knife and a balaclava from inside the vehicle.
