Blackburn car trader used Accrington 'chop shop' to buy cheap parts in stolen goods conspiracy
A garage owner bought stolen car parts from an East Lancashire 'chop shop' and used them to repair damaged vehicles.
They also found the body shell of a blue Range Rover which had been stolen on February 3, Preston Crown Court heard.On April 11 officers visited another premises, Globe Works in Richmond Hill Street, Accrington, where they discovered a white Range Rover with front end damage. Parts of the blue Range Rover, which was seen at John Street, had been fitted to the white vehicle and further searches revealed the entire interior of the blue car was being stored at Globe Works.
"It is no coincidence the blue Range Rover was stolen two days after the car was bought by Kasim Khan", the prosecution said. Officers also searched a unit in Brook Mill, Lower Darwen, which was rented by Khan and discovered further stolen car parts.
