The Carabao Cup semi-final draw has been completed following Tottenham 's 4-3 victory over Manchester United. Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 3-2 on Wednesday thanks to a hat-trick from Gabriel Jesus, while Liverpool secured a 2-1 win at home. The most dramatic match was between Tottenham and Manchester United - although it shouldn't have been when Spurs went 3-0 up in the second half.
However, two errors from goalkeeper Fraser Forster led to goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Amad Diallo, creating nerves for the hosts before Son Heung-min scored directly from a corner. Arsenal will face Newcastle, with the first leg being played at the Emirates Stadium. Tottenham will face Liverpool. The two-legged ties will both be played on the week commencing January 6 and February 3, with exact dates to follow. Spurs last lifted the cup in 2008 - their most recent trophy of any kind - while two-time winners Arsenal won it for the second time all the way back in 1993. Newcastle, meanwhile, have never won the Carabao Cup in any of its former guises, finishing as runners-up in 1976 and 2023. Both ties will be contested over two legs, with the team drawn as the home side hosting the first leg of the semi-final before the order is then reversed
