A shark research unit was the first to respond to the scene at the Hartenbos River Mouth in Mossel Bay, where they established a perimeter to preserve the animal for necropsy and sampling. "We do not believe this was the shark during the observed predation yesterday based on photo ID," Oceans Research Institute said in a social media post.
