Wide receiver Zay Jones is signing a one-year deal with the Cardinals after being released by the Jaguars last month, a source told ESPN.
Marvin Harrison Jr.in addition to Jones and Harrison Jr. Jones is tied for the second-oldest and second-most years of experience among receivers on the Cardinals' roster.Jones caught 116 passes for 1,144 yards and seven touchdowns in two seasons with the Jaguars, including career highs in receptions and receiving yards in 2022. Jones missed eight games in 2023 because of a lingering knee injury that he suffered early in the season, finishing with 34 catches for 321 yards and two touchdowns.
He will likely compete for a starting receiver job and could round out the Cardinals' offensive attack that would also include quarterback Jones was arrested in November and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after an argument with the mother of his child allegedly resulted in an injury to her neck, according to an arrest and booking report. The Florida state attorney's office announced in March that it would not pursue charges against Jones, and the case was dropped.in 2017 and caught 90 passes for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns in 36 games in Buffalo.
