Care home worker first person to test positive for coronavirus TWICE – and beat it both times
Heidi Kray has become the first person in Britain in to test positive for Covid-19 and beat it twiceShe said: “I always thought that if you develop coronavirus once then you are immune after that, but maybe I’m a special case.”The first positive result was followed by two negatives before testing positive again. Her fifth test was taken this week after recovering from the bug and she expects the results tomorrow.
As she had previously had the virus, medics did not think she would have it again so did not test her. But her GP was not convinced, so referred her to hospital for her third test — which was negative.Heidi has had two positive and two negative tests for coronavirusGenetic analysis has revealed that there are different strains of the coronavirusHeidi’s condition improved and as she planned to return to work, she was asked to take yet another test.
She said: “No one could ever have expected we would be living life like this now. I worked with extremely vulnerable people, who are likely to catch colds easily, so when this virus really began to take hold, everyone was worried. “They knew I was poorly when I first contracted this and they’ve respected my wishes to stay away. We’ve kept in contact the same way everyone has during this time, using Zoom calls mainly.“We haven’t had any deaths where I work, which is good. Some people have been moved but that has been a family request.
