Antrim champions Cargin take on Tyrone kingpins Errigal Ciaran in the quarter-final of the Ulster Club SFC at Corrigan Park this afternoon
Errigal Ciaran’s third outing in as many weekends sees their manager Enda McGinley come up against a number of familiar faces.
The former Antrim manager coached several of the Cargin contingent during a two-year stint with the Saffrons while four of his brother-in-laws, the McCann siblings, are set to feature for the Antrim champions at Corrigan Park. While the build-up to today’s game might have been difficult for McGinley, it is a position Errigal Ciaran didn’t look like finding themselves in when they were a point down against St Eunan’s in the closing stages of last Saturday’s Ulster Club preliminary round in Omagh.
However, two stoppage-time points from Ben McDonnell helped seal a two-point victory for the Tyrone champions. Cargin needed extra-time to overcome Portglenone in a tense Antrim SFC title at the start of October and Ronan Devlin’s side pushed Glen all the way in the provincial semi-final last term.When and where is the game?
