Police in Northern Ireland are investigating a carjacking that occurred outside a hospital in Portadown on Saturday morning. The victim was unharmed but shaken after the incident.

Detectives are urging the public for information following a carjacking incident outside a hospital in Northern Ireland on Saturday. Police received a report that a man approached the driver of a silver Volkswagen Polo outside a hospital in the Lurgan Road area of Portadown shortly before 6am. The suspect entered the front passenger seat and threatened the victim, who then drove a short distance to an industrial estate in the Carn Road area. There, the victim exited the vehicle.

The suspect took the keys and drove away, believed to be heading in the direction of the M12 and then onto the M1. Thankfully, the victim was physically unharmed but left shaken by the experience. The suspect is described as being in his 50s or 60s, of slim build, around 5’10” tall, with a thick grey beard and wearing a dark-colored hooded top. \Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed anything, or who may have dashcam or other video footage, to contact them on 101, quoting reference 260 of 25/1/25. Detectives also urge anyone who spots a silver Volkswagen Polo with the registration IGZ 3641 to contact authorities immediately.
