After a Carlisle man was arrested following a stabbing Saturday, charging documents obtained by CBS 21 are revealing new information about what reportedly led to the assault.
Henry Gumby, 62, is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault in connection to the incident, according to court documents.The charges stem from the following events, as reported in a criminal affidavit from Carlisle Police: Police responded to the 400 block of North Hanover Street where a man was found laying on the sidewalk with stab wounds to his neck and face. Officers were able to follow a trail of blood to a nearby address, where they spoke with Gumby.
Gumby said he came home from work that day around 9:15 a.m. to find his girlfriend in bed with another man.Gumby told police he pulled a folding knife from his pocket and stabbed the man in the face an unknown number of times. The victim was taken to Holy Spirit Hospital, where he underwent surgery for life-threatening injuries.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday at 11:15 a.m.
