Paul Morris, defending, said Mr Burton ‘has never supported’ the case against Flack
.Katie Weiss, prosecuting, replied: ‘Mr Burton is a victim, he received significant injury to his head.’However it was continued by Mr Morris that Burton ‘would not suggest that the injuries are significant in the way the prosecution submit’.According to Ms Weiss, the trial would use body camera footage from police officers who attended the scene following the 999 call, made in the early hours of the 12th.
Flack pleaded not guilty as the charges were put to her while in the dock before District Judge Julia Newton. She wiped her eyes in the dock as she confirmed her name, address, date of birth, nationality and plea.The presenter began to cry in the dock as Morris made an application to have a bail condition banning her from talking to Burton lifted.
He said: ‘They had been in a relationship all of this year and he appears in court today to support her and they remain a couple. She wants to spend time with her partner. If the conditions were lifted there would be no concerns.‘She is in the public eye – this case has been scrutinised, she will conduct herself properly.
The TV star wrote: ‘This is the worst time of my life. I don’t kno where to go to. Where to look. Who to trust. Or who I even am [sic].’
