Cash from Glasgow housing developers to boost Cathkin Braes bike trails

Bike stores and compostable toilets are planned to upgrade the facilities at Cathkin Braes mountain bike trails.

Cash paid to Glasgow City Council by housing developers will be spent on upgrading Cathkin Braes mountain bike trails.

Cllr Ruairi Kelly, SNP, the council’s convener for housing, development, built heritage and land use, said the project will “enhance the attractiveness of the international standard mountain bike trails for individuals, clubs and schools”. A further £59,400 is being provided through a grant from Scottish cycling facilities fund. The extra £14,850 will go towards maintenance over 10 years.
