Cash from Scots homeless hotels should go towards helping the vulnerable | Record View
At least 157 homeless Scots died last year and the total was a staggering 518 in three years. The problems in Glasgow are particularly acute.
Central and local government urgently need to come together to ensure the death toll falls to zero. This should include increased resources to try to stop homelessness happening in the first place. The first step should be to stop millions of pounds being handed to hotels with such a shocking death rate. It is time to put homeless people first.
