A wide array of novelty courses are on offer for students who do not make their predicted grades on A-level results day on Thursday and have to go through clearing.
Universities have been accused of running ‘Mickey Mouse’ courses to stay afloat as they advertise degrees in rap music, esports and social media.
Chris McGovern of the Campaign for Real Education said: ‘This is a money-making racket from cash-strapped universities. It says: ‘Students will learn how to adapt to any rap style or genre through collaboration and experimentation.’ It says students will develop skills in ‘content’, ‘flow’ and ‘delivery’ of rap music.
The degree is run by the Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies and validated by Nottingham Trent University . Meanwhile, the University of Bolton is offering a BA degree in ‘digital content creation’, needing CCC grades to get in.
