According to CBP, officers pulled a vehicle to the side for a secondary inspection. After further investigation with canines and a more thorough inspection by officers, they discovered 67 weapons, 69 gun magazines, and 33 rounds of ammunition hidden inside. Port Director Walter Weaver of the Progreso/Donna Port of Entry said the seizure illustrated the agency's ongoing commitment to help secure the shared border with Mexico -- adding because of all the training, inspection experience, and vigilance displayed by his officers, they have successfully intercepted a significant amount of weapon contraband.
