The burglar snuck in through the front door of the woman's home in Basford
Nottinghamshire Police are appealing for help after an elderly woman was burgled while she was watering her plants. The incident occurred on September 4, when the 79-year-old woman was at her property on Jasmine Road, Basford.
The woman saw the man leaving her property and chased after him. He fled in the direction of an alleyway on Jasmine Road. Police say the suspect is believed to be a white male of medium build, late 20s, and was around 5ft 10ins tall.The 79-year-old victim said: "Whilst filling my watering can I turned around from the sink and saw a man leaving my front door. I saw the man turn left and tried to chase after him.
"I lost sight of the man at this point but there is an alleyway which just leads into some back gardens, so I presumed he had just gone jumping over gardens. "My handbag is a multi-coloured handbag with flowers on. It is my everyday bag which has a shoulder strap. My bag contained my purse which is a red envelope purse which had £80 of cash inside in notes. It also had my bank cards in it."
