Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga , and Sir Rod Stewart are among the renowned celebrities scheduled to perform at a charitable concert to raise funds for wildfire relief efforts in the Los Angeles area. The event, dubbed FireAid, will simultaneously take place in two distinct venues on January 30th, featuring a lineup of artists with strong ties to California, a state that continues to grapple with powerful and destructive wildfires.
The impressive lineup also includes the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Joni Mitchell, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Stevie Nicks, Earth, Wind & Fire, Pink, Sting, Gracie Abrams, Green Day, Jelly Roll, Stephen Stills, Dave Matthews & John Mayer, and Tate McRae. While some artists will grace the stage at the Intuit Dome, the home of the LA Clippers basketball team, others will perform at the Kia Forum. Both venues are located in the Inglewood area of Los Angeles.Since their eruption on January 8th, wildfires in the Pacific Palisades, Altadena, and Pasadena regions have tragically claimed the lives of at least 27 individuals and displaced tens of thousands from their homes. As of Friday, firefighters relentlessly worked to gain control of nearly 40,000 acres of active wildfires. The largest of these blazes, the Palisades fire, was 27% contained by authorities, while the Eaton fire had reached 55% containment, according to NBC, Sky News' US partner network. Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley described the entire event as one of the worst natural disasters in the city's history. Millions in donations have already poured in to assist those who have lost their homes, including a substantial $2.5 million from singer Beyonce and a remarkable $15 million from The Walt Disney Company. All funds raised from FireAid will be channeled towards short-term relief initiatives and long-term programs aimed at preventing future fire catastrophes throughout Southern California. According to the FireAid website, all donations will be managed by the esteemed Annenberg Foundation. Tickets for FireAid go on sale on January 22nd at midday local time, with each ticket granting entry to one concert venue, not both. The specific performers at each location remain undisclosed. The concert will be broadcast and streamed live across multiple platforms, including Apple Music, Apple TV, Max, iHeartRadio, KTLA+, Netflix/Tudum, Paramount+, Prime Video, the Amazon Music Channel on Twitch, SiriusXM, Spotify, SoundCloud, Veeps, and YouTube, ensuring a wide reach for this momentous event
