Liam Cooper is yet to decide on the next step in his career after his Leeds United contract expired
Scottish gianrs Celtic and Rangers are reportedly monitoring Liam Cooper 's situation, with the Leeds United stalwart yet to sign a new deal at Elland Road.
Cooper is available on a free transfer, and reports north of the border suggest Glasgow giants Celtic and Rangers are both weighing up a move for the defender, who will turn 33 later this month. Both are said to be in the market for an experienced defender, and Cooper most certainly ticks that box.
Paying tribute to Cooper's contribution to the club last weekend, Farke said: "He led this club into the Premier League and has made sure that they had also one really good year there. He was a fantastic person and player for this club. When you’re so young in age and just one year at the club, you have to try fulfil these big footsteps, it’s never easy, but it was our choice with Ethan, Pascal and Illan, it’s a young leadership group but it’s what we’re all about.
