Brendan Rodgers is wasting no time in reinvesting the Matt O'Riley transfer windfall
Record Sport understands the Scottish champions have tabled the offer for the Sheffield United defender. The Blades are reluctant to sell but the Hoops are pushing hard to try to make the move happen. Celtic have picked up a club record fee for the sale of Matt O’Riley to Brighton and they are set to invest the bulk of that into Brendan Rodgers ’ squad.
Offers are in for Augsburg’s Arne Engels, LAFC’s Mateusz Bogus and Lazio winger Gustav Isaksen and now Rodgers has made his move to land Trusty to strengthen his defence. He is keen to pair Trusty with countryman Cameron Carter-Vickers. Sheffield United paid £5m to sign him from Arsenal last season but the club has since dropped out of the Premier League and would recoup that fee.
