Residents of Kilsyth gathered to mark a centenary service as the town remembered those who died during conflict..
Provost Kenneth Duffy said: “This historic memorial in the heart of Kilsyth serves as an enduring symbol of the community's collective gratitude and remembrance to those who died serving their country.
"It helps to remind us of the tragedy and futility of war, and that we should never forget those who lost their lives. "War Memorials allow us to reflect upon the sacrifices that have been made to safeguard our way of life and our freedom throughout the generations. One hundred years have passed since the dedication of the Kilsyth memorial, and it is vital we continue to remember those brave individuals who never got the chance to come home to their loved ones.”
