The new settlement would make it so that a real estate agent would no longer be able to work for a veteran for free.

The settlement opens the discussion over commission and how much someone selling or buying a house must pay the real estate agent representing them.to make the relationship between agents and those looking to buy and sell homes more transparent. But one Central Texas agent is concerned about what this change could mean for veterans.

Myka Allen-Johnson, the owner of Elevate Texas Real Estate, has been an agent for more than 20 years and even teaches other realtors. If the seller doesn't pay for a veteran homebuyer's real estate agent, then the veteran may have to purchase the home without an agent looking out for their best interest.
