The claims come as unions threaten NSW construction workers will vote against the Perrottet government after it pledged to be “the tough cop on the beat”.
, came just days after Master Builders Association NSW wrote to the CFMEU to express concern that its officials were allegedly telling builders they will stop work if employees were not union members.
“That should be prohibited as part of the whole emphasis we have in this country on freedom of association. There are lots of people who don’t necessarily want to be a union member.” He compared the move to the Liberals’ failed “anti-union scare campaign” at the federal election and argued it was designed to suppress wages and conditions.
