A hospital in Chambers County is making big changes that’s sure to impact people who live in the area.
ByVALLEY, Ala. -
Hospital officials released a statement saying all in-patient services will be closing, which includes the intensive care unit. However, emergency services and outpatient services will remain. The Lanier campus only admits about 6 patients a day, according to hospital officials. They feel they can better serve the community’s medical needs by focusing on emergency services. All in-patient care will be directed to Opelika.“We’ve been blessed to have this small community hospital here...and then now for it to be closing and having to go that far out and away for anybody needing ICU is kind of scary,” said Headlee.
