is set to host a clothing drive where shoppers will have a chance to scoop up exclusive designer and vintage pieces.Bargain hunters and sustainability fans are invited to bring their preloved items to the Botanics Shop on Great Western Road where they can shop other attendees donated items.
Scottish sustainability influencers like Colette and Sophia will be at the event armed with high-quality pieces to donate.Attendees can write a message to the new owner of their preloved items in keeping with the community spirit of circularPledgers are encouraged to sign the Pre-Loved Donation Pledge in-store and speak to Shelter Scotland representatives about tackling homelessness and bad housing.
The charity was inspired to launch the event to drum up support for its shops and slow the impact of fast fashion buying through a community approach. While shopping at charity stores has increased in popularity, donations which are the lifeblood of the charity have dipped, says Shelter Scotland.A spokesperson for Shelter Scotland:"On average, a household in Scotland becomes homeless every 18 minutes.
"Passing on clothes is key to lessen the environmental impact of the fashion industry, but also crucial to support the vital"By donating unloved pieces to the Botanics shop’s ‘Rehome Rails’, attendees will help the charity to find these clothes a new loving home and support its vital work in tackling the housing emergency in Scotland."Shelter Scotland Botanics Shop is located at 679 Great Western Road.
