Former Labour Prime Minister Tony Blair even made an appearance on the show

Channel 4 has decided to axe its Make Me Minister programme after just one series, according to the Mirror. The show first aired on September 27, 2022 to see contestants compete for the job which has seen Boris Johnson, Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak fill the position in the last six months.

Bosses are now said to have taken the decision to spike the show following dwindling viewing numbers. Speaking to The Sun, a source claimed: "There was a sense that after having three prime ministers in just five weeks, the country had had enough jostling to reach the top of the greasy pole."With a concept that had never been seen before, the programme was always something of a TV experiment which could have been a success or a flop.

As they battled for the job, they were given guidance by 'spin doctor' Alastair Campbell and ex-Conservative minister, Baroness Warsi. Even former Prime Minster, Tony Blair, made a brief appearance on the programme.
