Two songs, two looks, and two over-the-top sets.
Last night, Chappell Roan made her debut on the Saturday Night Live stage. Known for her elaborate fashion and beauty looks, she reunited her tried-and-true glam team for the occasion: stylist Genesis Webb, hairstylist Dom Forletta, makeup artist Andrew Dahling, and nail artist Juan Alvear. But because a performance at Studio 8H calls for a little something special, Roan also tapped creative artist Maris Jones to design the two incredible sets for her performances.
Her look included a telltale white streak in her red hair, dark bejeweled aura nails, and spidery lashes with a spider brooch to match. Then, after a quick change backstage into a gingham two-piece , Roan’s second performance offered a different treat for fans: This time, she sang “The Giver,” a new song seeming from her forthcoming second studio album. Both the country-pop tune and the set design took the Willard, Missouri, native back to her roots.
